Pre-Nursing technology is a two year program that provides the basics for State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification and Patient Care Assistant.

Course Material includes patient care, understanding of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.

The Pre-Nursing program is approved under the Ohio Department of Education, and through an articulation agreement with Columbus State Community College, students have the opportunity for proficiency advancement in Practical and Registered Nursing.
Program Highlights
In order to gain entry-level employment in health care, students are trained in the following areas:
  • Safety
  • CPR and First Aid
  • Antomy and Physiology
  • How to maintain an optimum state of health, and why it is important
  • Recognize and treat common diseases
  • Medical terminology
  • Recognizing the importantance of individuality in relationship to patient care
  • Math, science and communication
  • Employability skills
  • Leadership skills
Industry Overview
Registered Nurses with an Associates degree will have more job openings than any other occupation, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics report of 2002.

In addition, LPN's, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Thereapist Assistants, and Respiratory Therapy Technicians all top the list of fastest growing occupations betweeen 2002 and 2012.
