Program Description

People spend much of their leisure time participating in a wide variety of organized recreational activities and sports. Recreation and fitness workers plan, organize, and direct these activities in recreation areas, parks, community centers, health clubs, fitness centers, religious organizations, camps, theme parks, and tourist attractions. Increasingly, fitness workers also are found in workplaces, where they organize and direct leisure activities and athletic programs for employees of all ages.
Program Highlights
Students develop, interpret and apply pertinent information in health career understanding, professional practices, workplace safety, emergency procedures, functional anatomy, vital signs, health appraisal and fitness testing, exercise physiology, exercise programming, nutrition and weight management, injury recognition, management, treatment and prevention, rehabilitation, education and counseling.
