Supporting our Military Families

At Tolles, we are committed to seeking out our military-connected families and assisting those families as needed. Mr. Steve McGhee is our building contact. Should an immediate family member currently be serving in the military, please let us know. You can contact Mr. McGhee directly through email at [email protected] or call Tolles at (614) 873-4666. We have several events each year to bring our military-connected families together.  Please check this website and monthly newsletters for additional information on those events.

The Purple Star Award recognizes schools that show a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military.

A school will be honored with the Purple Star Award if it completes all the required activities, plus one optional activity. The Purple Star Advisory Board, formed by the Ohio departments of Education, Higher Education, Veterans Services, and the Adjutant General, helps decide a school’s eligibility for the award.

Close to two million children have a loved one in the US Armed Forces. More than three/fourths of these children range from age 4-18. These military-connected youths are found in every school in the country.
The goal of this site is to provide resources to families and educators throughout the state and beyond. We parents serve, the entire families serve from the youngest to the eldest member. While originally focused mainly on Active Duty Families, the parameters have been opened to include: Pre-Service (students going into the military after school), Currently Serving, and Post-Service (veterans).
